Position: Imaging Technologist I, Multi-Modal - League City Campus (CT/X-Ray; up to 19 hrs per week)
** This is an open-pooled position. Applicants' education/experience will be considered and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate. *

* * EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

* Minimum Qualifications:

* * Associates of Applied Science OR Graduate of an accredited Radiology program

* Enrolled in or have completed second Imaging Modality program

* Preferred Qualifications:

* * Six months of Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality

* Three or more months of experience in Secondary Imaging Modality

* LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
*
* Required:

* * Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations:

* American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT),

* American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS),

* American Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT-VT),

* Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB),

* American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)

* Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.

* Registry in a second modality must be completed within 6 months of hire or transfer date.

* American Heart Association BLS.

* JOB DESCRIPTION:

* The Multi-modality Technologist I provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination of which MRI, CT, Mammography, or X-ray are the primary modality. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. The procedures are performed under general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

The Multi-modality Technologist I must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. In addition, the Multi-modality Technologist I will be able to provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. The Multi-modality Technologist I will meet all of the qualifications and requirements for the modalities in which they are certified and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality.

The position may require flex shifts and support at different UTMB Campuses.

* Up to 19.99 hours per week with no benefits. Must be wiling to work all shifts. May include on-call rotation and holidays.

* * High School Diploma or GED

* Three (3) Years' Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality

* One (1) Year Experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality

* LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
* * Two (2) Certifications from one or more of the following credentialing organizations:

* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),

* American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS),

* American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Vascular Technologist (RVT-VT),

* Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or

* American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

* Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.

* American Heart Association BLS.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* * Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred

* Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
