Overview

Primary Purpose

To ensure increased student achievement and improved classroom instruction at the intermediate school level by assisting the Principal in the coordination, supervision, and evaluation of instructional programs. Provide campus-based instructional leadership, supporting high-quality teaching, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement aligned with campus goals. Serve as the testing coordinator for the campus. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university

Valid Texas principal certification

State Appraisal System training certification

Special Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated ability as an instructional leader at the secondary

Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices

Ability to analyze and apply multiple sources of student data to improve instruction

Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to support campus improvement planning and instructional systems

Knowledge of adolescent learners and instructional strategies appropriate for intermediate schools

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of successful secondary classroom teaching experience

Instructional leadership experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs aligned to campus and district priorities.
  • Support teachers in the effective implementation of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and assessment practices appropriate for intermediate learners.
  • Encourage and support innovative instructional practices, including pilot programs and instructional initiatives.
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate job-embedded professional development aligned with campus improvement goals and district initiatives.
  • Support teachers in goal setting, reflective practice, and continuous professional growth.
  • Assist the Principal in supervising instructional staff and supporting continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Promote high expectations for teaching and learning; recognize and celebrate instructional excellence and growth.
  • Serve as a campus instructional leader supporting the transition of students from elementary to intermediate and from intermediate to high school.
  • Promote the infusion of technology in the learning process.
  • Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals.
  • Serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator for all state and local assessments, including planning, training, logistics, scheduling, security, and documentation.
  • Analyze campus, grade-level, and student data to inform instructional decisions and improvement strategies.
  • Interpret academic data for teachers and teams to improve student performance.
  • Coordinate and instructional interventions through any CCISD program/platform.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor research-based instructional interventions based on student needs.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to evaluate and revise instructional programs and strategies.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of student instructional program data and reports.
  • Build instructional capacity through collaboration with instructional specialists, teacher leaders, and campus administrators.
  • Support the development of effective PLC practices focused on student learning and instructional improvement.
  • Conduct instructional observations and walkthroughs; provide timely, diagnostic, and prescriptive feedback to support professional growth, including active participation in the T-TESS appraisal process as assigned by the Principal.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students and staff.
  • Promote collegiality, teamwork, and shared decision-making among faculty and staff.
  • Collaborate consistently with campus and district personnel to maintain and strengthen instructional programs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Serve as a liaison for students who are academically at-risk and those participating in advanced academic programs.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Campus Improvement Plan.
  • Assist the Principal in developing and maintaining systems to track progress toward academic and instructional goals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, SBOE rules, Board policy, and district procedures.
  • Research district policy, precedent, and best practices prior to taking action.
  • Support effective student transitions, including scheduling, placement, and instructional continuity.
  • Promote the infusion of technology into instruction to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Assist the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff members.
