Install/Repair Technician

Responsible for delivering quality technology solutions to all customers and potential customers. This role ensures that customer communication needs are met whether at home or a business location. Duties include installing, maintaining, repairing, and locating underground network facilities.
Essential Job Functions- Assist customers with communication needs.
- Install equipment at customer premises
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on systems.
- Completes paperwork, maintains repair parts in inventory, maintains confidentiality regarding information being processed or stored, and performs customer follow up.
- Install customer wired and wireless networks including all necessary hardware and software.
- Recommend repairs, perform authorized repairs and post repair checks.
- Address walk-in customers, and answer customer questions as needed.
- Provide troubleshooting techniques pertaining to routers, devices, email, password management, and video services.
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Repairs communications and/or broadband equipment.
- Weekly on-call rotation and occasional overtime.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of telecommunications technology, products and services.

- Knowledge of network troubleshooting techniques.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- Ability to learn new technology and services.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
High school diploma required. Valid driver’s license required. Mathematical, computer, and mapping skills required. Experience networking and understanding of Wi‑Fi networks preferred.
Physical Requirements- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to read computer screen and various reports (75-100%)
- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and industry contacts (75-100%)
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, pull, and push (50-100%)
- Must be able to write, type, and use phone system (75-100%)
