Overview
The Sales Support Manager will act as an inside sales function and overall distribution and sales support, responsible for achievement of annual sales volume and operating profit objectives within their assigned distributor customers. This individual will also support the Food service and Impulse Field Sales organizations as the primary headquarter resource assisting with their distributor account responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Responsible for assigned Broadline and Specialty Distributor sales and growth
- Manage calls and opportunities as they arise for smaller Broadline and Specialty Distribution customers
- Develop and successfully implement sales strategies aligned to direct account management
- Lead and coordinate initiatives in the areas of Category Management, Lead Generation, and Target Lists for the Sales Teams (nielsen, spectra, depletion data, technomic, etc.)
- Support Sales Team members with scoreboards, dashboards, and reports to drive decision making
- Leverage team members to build large/multi-unit indirect customer relationships critical to distributor customer base
- Act as internal resource for the field, assisting with sales meeting coordination, program and pricing discrepancies, and overall support
- Maintain distributor stocking sheets and perform slot tracking/management to assist field in identifying opportunities
- Build strong working relationships while collaborating effectively and efficiently with aligned functions at the customer level, as well as with internal partners within Distributor Development, Channel Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, Trade and Demand Planning at Wells
- Proactively manage and recommend distributor inventory opportunities to sales teams to influence assortments
- Lead the development and execution of distributor engagement tools and resources
- Assist with forecasting and reporting alignment
- Create efficiencies for field teams while improving current ways of working and communication
- Conduct training sessions for sales on tools and resources
- Content management owner of several digital resources including OOH Mobile App and Digital Marketing Center
- Owner of ad hoc special projects and tasks to dive sales enablement
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate industry experience
- Preferred 3-5 years Food Service industry experience, CPG, or Retail (Sales or Marketing)
- Firm understanding of Food Service, paths to market and how FS distribution works
- Strong systems skills related to analyzing sales data, forecasting, and trade management systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical skills. With preferred experience in BI Platforms and Programming Languages – Tableau, Power BI, Share Point, SQL Server, Python, or R
- Resourceful with proven ability to problem-solve individually and collaboratively
- Results driven; action orientated
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
The base pay range for this position is $92,295 to $135,013 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This pay range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
