** Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a PRN (as needed) position in our Laboratory Department for a Laboratory Assistant.

** Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities:
*** The Lab Assistant duties include, but are not limited to: performing phlebotomy, drug and alcohol testing, operating and maintaining waived lab equipment.
* Takes lab orders from physician’s offices. Request faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures. Notifies providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria.
* Represents the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.
** Requirements:
*** Two years of clinical Lab experience is preferred.
* High School diploma or GED.
* BLS a plus; certification is required as an employee.
* Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
