Truck Driver – Seasonal, Temporary
Location: Layton, UT
Duration: March 15 – September 30, 2026
Compensation: $20.85 per hour; $19.01 per hour for H‑2A workers. 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri, 7:00 am–4:00 pm.
Responsibilities- Operate Class A CDL truck on behalf of a commercial nursery; pull and load orders; prepare next day deliveries.
- Maintain a clean driving record; perform routine vehicle maintenance and report issues.
- Assist with on‑farm construction projects during the non‑peak season; general groundskeeping and maintenance duties.
- A minimum of three months full‑time truck driving experience.
- Valid Class A CDL license with air‑brake endorsement (or equivalent); must pass a post‑employment DOT road test.
- Proficiency in English; able to read, comprehend traffic signage and communicate with roadway officials.
- Must be able to lift 50 lb; return to residence or employer‑provided housing within the same work day.
- Must obtain and maintain employment eligibility documentation (I‑9 verification) upon hire.
All employment checks—including post‑employment DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records—are conducted at no cost to the worker.
Workers shall report to work at the designated time and place each day; daily or weekly schedules may vary due to weather, crop conditions, and other factors. Unpaid lunch breaks apply for shifts exceeding five hours.
Workers may not report for work under the influence of alcohol or drugs; violation results in immediate termination. The employer retains the right to terminate for lawful job‑related reasons.
