Position

Description:

This role is responsible for operating and maintaining rotary filling and packaging equipment to ensure the accurate filling, sealing, and labeling of supplements, powders, and other products.

• Preparing product into bulk, filled bottles, or packaged for packing and shipment.
• Ensure precise filling of capsules, powders, tablets, or liquids into containers, pouches, or bottles.
• Replenishes packaging supplies such as boxes, shrink-wrap, labels, or pallets.
• Inspects materials, products and containers for non‑conformances at each step of the packaging process; inspects filled containers to ensure product is packaged according to specifications.
• Records information such as batch code, time and date packaged; responsible for correct count, accurate label placement, batch codes and lids for each bottle; must work from technical data to ensure quality production runs.
• Logs and reports production information in written and electronic form.
• Operates basic machinery with the ability to make minor adjustments or repairs.
• May start, stop or regulate speed of conveyor.
• May start, stop or set up tape machine.
• Records information such as batch code, time and date packaged. (Duplicate)
• May also keep records on the number of items or cartons received from the warehouse.
• May also keep records on the number of items or cartons returned to the warehouse.
• Identifies boxes and pallets with the correct customer’s work order information.

• Must contribute to department team incentive goals based on productivity, quality and accuracy.
• Cross‑train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the packaging department.
• Support company, department and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Basic computer skills to input data into the database.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Requires obtaining and maintaining a current food handler’s permit.
• English proficiency required.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; converse and listen.
• Ability to lift, carry and maneuver items over head as part of routine job duties.
• Must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. of force frequently, and 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
• Specific vision abilities required: near acuity, far acuity, accommodation, color vision and field of vision.
