Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is actively seeking a part-time Medical Records Retention Specialist to join the clinical support staff. This position ensures that all clinical records are maintained and stored in accordance with DBH's records retention policy.
Responsibilities- Gather patient demographic and personal information.
- Maintain quality and accurate records by following procedures.
- Work within DBH's electronic medical record system and have a working knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Make sure all medical records are protected and kept confidential.
- Ensure client charts, paperwork and reports are scanned and completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work on caseload reports and any other reports that are necessary.
- Complete clerical duties including responding to emails.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
- Assist the clinical support staff in providing the first impression for clients and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Scanning, importing, and organizing medical documents while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare medical records and loose documents for scanning.
- Scan medical record documents.
- Index medical record documentation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working in a medical office and/or familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
- Experience with business office equipment (credit card machines, fax machines, printers, etc.) preferred.
- Computer knowledge, including keyboarding (typing) skills, required.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Self‑starter ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal communication skills and professional customer service experience.
- Demonstrated compassion, courtesy and respect toward clients and their families.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to establish immediate rapport with clients.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.

Shift20-25 hours per week during regular business hours. Exact hours to be determined by the hiring manager.
CompensationStarting pay: $18.25 per hour.
BenefitsPart‑time positions are not eligible to participate in the agency's benefits program. All employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Intermountain Health.
