Job Summary /Basic FunctionMust be available to work at two locations: WSU Davis Campus in Layton. The Open-Student Computer Lab is dedicated to offering educational experiences, leadership opportunities, and academic support which advances the social, intellectual, cultural and civic development of students.
We are seeking a Computer Lab Assistant to provide customer service to patrons using the computer labs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Professionally assist students in using the lab facility
- Ensure the operation of the lab and equipment
- Provide software and minor hardware support (training will be provided if hired)
- Ensure a clean and efficient lab environment
- Assist team leader and supervisor as needed
- Communicate timely and effectively with team and coworkers for support
- Serve on Computer Lab Committees
- Participate in Computer Lab Activities and community engagement opportunities
We are looking for students with strong work ethics, professional and friendly attitudes, and a willingness to help others. In addition, applicants should prove an understanding of excellent customer service skills and should be effective communicators, self-initiators, and work well in a team environment. Previous leadership experience is highly preferred.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required QualificationsPotential candidates must have good communication and customer service skills through work or volunteer experiences. Some knowledge and experience using computers, Google Suite, and word processing applications (MS Word, Google Docs, etc.). Ability to effectively comprehend and communicate written and oral instructions. Demonstrate excellence in customer service skills.
Current full-time or part-time WSU students.
Preferred QualificationsLeadership skills and experience are preferred and beneficial for advancement.
