Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is actively recruiting a full‑time Case Manager/Employment Specialist to work on the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) team. This position will be based out of the DBH Layton office; however, the majority of the work will be conducted in the community throughout Davis County.
The Case Manager/Employment Specialist promotes the IPS Model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation to clients with severe and prolonged mental illness, helping them secure regular jobs of their choosing. The role will spend 60% of work hours in the community developing jobs for clients. Marketing and/or job development experience is beneficial.
The IPS case manager assists clients in obtaining and maintaining employment consistent with their vocational goals and also supports education goals by enrolling them in school or technical programs, accessing disability student services, and addressing scheduling concerns. Working as a team to best serve clients is a critical component.

Essential Job Functions- Engage clients and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward competitive employment in the community.
- Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information, work experiences, and job skills.
- Develop jobs and job‑search activities individualized to the clients' interests and unique strengths.
- Conduct a minimum of six (6) employer contacts per week to learn about business needs, describe IPS program supports, and articulate the client’s relevant strengths.
- Provide individualized follow‑along support to assist clients in maintaining employment.
- Negotiate job accommodations and conduct follow‑along contact with the employer.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the mental health treatment team and communicate individually with team members between meetings to coordinate vocational services into treatment.
- Meet clients at community locations such as home, workplace, coffee shops, libraries, vocational rehabilitation offices, family homes, or accompany them to apply for jobs.
- Provide supported education for clients who express interest in advancing their employment goals.
- Complete required clinical documentation within established time frames (see Productivity and Documentation Standards).

This full‑time, non‑exempt position involves 40 hours per week. The proposed schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional flexibility for overtime, weekend work, evening or night shifts as needed.
Location & Work EnvironmentThe office is located at 934 South Main Street, Layton, UT 84041. A minimum of 60% of the role will be in the community, developing and maintaining relationships with employers and partners.
CompensationThe hourly rate is as follows:
- BSW degree + SSW license: $25.50 per hour base wage + 1% per year of licensure
- Non‑BSW degree: $21.50 per hour base wage + 1% per year of direct social work experience, up to 10 years
- No degree + BHCM certification: $19.00 per hour + 1% per year of direct social work experience, up to 10 years
All new employees undergo a 6‑month introductory period to assess performance and fit.
Required QualificationsPrevious experience in the social work field and/or with people who have serious mental illness is strongly preferred. Previous experience with marketing and/or job development is also strongly preferred.
Education- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is required.
- Strong preference for active Social Service Worker (SSW) licensure in good standing in Utah. BHCM certification is not required for licensed individuals.
- Ability to obtain Behavioral Health Case Management (BHCM) certification within 90 days of employment is required if unlicensed.
