Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) – Quality Engineer (Entry-Level or Associate)Position located in Layton, UT, within the Strategic Deterrence Systems team. As a Quality Engineer, you will provide Quality support to shop, program, and field sites as needed. Duties will include inspection activity, planning review, First Article Inspections, Early Quality Involvement of program requirements review and implementation through production and deployment.
Position Responsibilities- Integrates contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs analysis and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing or aerospace environment
- Level 2:
More than 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)
- Experience with IPC-620
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
- More than 1 year of experience doing working with regulatory agencies (DCMA, FAA, and/or Military)
- Experience in Nonconformance Processing
- More than 1 year of experience working with Quality Management Systems
- More than 1 year of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts
