Welcome to the Teller role at First Community Bank Utah. Join our Layton Hills Branch located at 1601 N Hill Field Rd in Layton, UT. The teller is the frontline of the bank, playing a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction through day‑to‑day branch processes.
About the RolePrior cash handling experience and excellent customer service skills are preferred. The teller is comfortable making dozens of transactions daily and communicating with a variety of customers.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct customer financial transactions within time limits and established guidelines (deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, sales of official checks & money orders, and other duties as assigned).
- Balance accurately and maintain cash limits of the drawer daily.
- Take an active role in branch programs by greeting all customers, learning their names, and meeting their banking needs by introducing new products and services (credit cards, savings bonds, etc.).
- Go the "extra mile" to build trust relationships, customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Comply with regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent loss.
- Resolve customer issues and provide relevant assistance.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior cash handling experience.
- Full Time:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Customer satisfaction – courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential.
- Basic PC knowledge.
- Attention to detail and mathematical skills.
The employee will work primarily in an office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical DemandsRequired to sit, use hands in repetitive motions, talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, lift or reach with hands and arms. May need to stand for extended periods and interact face‑to‑face. Must operate routine office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, calculator). Must reliably attend work and occasionally travel off‑site. Must be able to climb/descend stairs. Must lift/release up to 20 pounds.
Requires close visual acuity for computer work and detailed inspection. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
Starting salary depends on experience and location.
