POSITION SUMMARYProvide direct/INDIRECT services and related assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and Human trafficking
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain 24- hour hotline
- Conduct initial assessment interview of victims seeking services face to face elephonically.
- Document services and client’s activities in case files.
- Assist clients with following house courtesies.
- Provide peer to peer counseling.
- Assist shelter residents with taking care of their basic needs such as personal hygiene, food, clothing, personal appointments, medical, etc.
- Assist victims with working their goal plans.
- Conduct house meetings to identify needs and address complaints.
- Maintain client confidentiality to include information in their files.
- Assist client with developing a safety plan.
- Attend culture events with clients.
- Ensure that the facility is secured at all times and monitor shelter security systems.
- Maintain building maintenance/repair log.
- Perform routine housekeeping chores
- Other duties as related.
Will Report to Program Director. No supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to perform routine housekeeping chores such as sweeping, laundry, mopping, making beds, dusting, etc.
- Must be able to bend, reach and walk constantly.
Professional, confidential, stressful, diverse population, unexpected crisis situations, confrontational.
QUALIFICATIONS- High School or GED. Good communications skill, verbal and written.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with an agency that provide services such as DHS, residential treatment center, children shelter, etc. College credits in psychology, sociology or related field maybe substituted for experience. 30 semester hour equivalent of one year of experience.
- Working knowledge of Native America traditional ways and culture.
- Working knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking laws and issues in Indian Country, state & federal.
- Ability to handle crisis, work under pressure, shift work, holidays and week
- Ability to work with a diversified population.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment and drug test.
- Must be willing to submit to and pass a thorough background investigation.
- Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the CN Motor Vehicle Policy.
