Job TitleStepdown Registered Nurse (Cardiac Focus)
Job DescriptionThe Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) will care for patients with cardiac conditions such as chest pain, heart attacks (STEMI and NSTEMI), and those who have undergone heart surgeries (e.g., CABG or thoracotomy) or other vascular procedures. The nurse will also care for patients with respiratory issues, heart rhythm disturbances, or those requiring specialized medications and monitoring for blood pressure. Post-cardiac procedure patients will recover in this unit, and the nurse will help manage monitoring tubes and related equipment.
Note that certain medications may not be adjusted in this unit.
The role includes creating and following a complete nursing care plan for each patient. The nurse will assess patient needs, establish nursing diagnoses, and develop care plans. Collaboration with other members of the healthcare team is required to maintain high standards of nursing care.
Patient Care PopulationThe nurse will provide care for people of all ages, including infants, children, teenagers, adults, and older adults.
Qualifications- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Oklahoma.
- At least 6 months of experience in a Stepdown unit.
- Must currently hold or be willing to obtain NIH Certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIH Certification
- Must have an Oklahoma state nursing license.
