Ultrasound Technologist - General / OB GYN

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the ultrasound supervisor, assists the radiologist and other physicians in achieving scans and films to diagnose patients receiving an ultrasound exam or sonogram. Provides patient care activities including adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients and is responsible for the proper utilization of Radiology Information System as per RIS Policy and Procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Participate and implement age specific care and interaction.
• Work established schedule.
• Provide basic patient care and comfort.
• Obtain, review, and correlate pertinent patient history to facilitate optimal diagnostic results.
• Perform diagnostic procedures by producing, assessing, evaluating, and interpreting ultrasound images and related data.
• Perform clerical skills to document and record all statistical information and record keeping requirements.
• Perform quality assurance and infection control programs.
• Schedule to be on call.
• Maintain ultrasound labs.
• Employ professional judgment and discretion.
• Maintain competency of profession.

Requirements:

• Meets requirements for registry by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Six months experience preferred in the performance of ultrasound and must be registry eligible.
