Vascular Technologist

The Vascular Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations to evaluate blood flow and detect vascular abnormalities. This role involves working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging and support patient care.

• P erform non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies including carotid, arterial, venous, and abdominal vascular exams.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure comfort throughout examinations.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Analyze and document findings, providing preliminary reports to physicians.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility standards.
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring new staff or students as needed.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
• Completion of an accredited vascular technology program.
• Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

• Prior experience in vascular ultrasound within a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Familiarity with advanced vascular imaging techniques.

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
