Elementary Principal

Position: ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL
Responsibilities and

Essential Functions:

* Utilize effective leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to positively promote the educational development of each student.

* Establish and maintain an effective learning climate.

* Capably supervise the teaching process.

* Establish guidelines for proper conduct with appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior.

* Establish and maintain favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs.

* Keep the Executive Director of Education informed of the school's activities and problems.

* Participate in the selection and supervision of all building personnel.

* Organize and administer the public relations program for the school.

* Supervise the daily use of the facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.

* Assume responsibility for all official correspondence and news releases.

* Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field of education.

* Assist in the development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum.

* Assist in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training and evaluating of school staff.

* Plan, organize and direct all school activities making provisions for proper supervision and safety.

Required Qualifications Must hold a valid Oklahoma Elementary Principals certificate at the time application is filed.
