Electrical Dist System Inspector

Under indirect supervision, oversee work performed by contractors on AEP electrical facilities.

• Assist with job planning, safety, crew critique, or other tasks as needed.
• Inspect and accept or reject contractor work for compliance to safety, design, construction standards, and construction quality.
• Assure contracted construction projects flow smoothly.
• Resolve customers' concerns associated with work performed by contractors.
• Document construction events to protect AEP's interest from future claims.
• Assure contractor invoices are accurate, complete, and reasonable.
• Provide feedback concerning contractor performance to Contract Administration for use in future contracting activities.
• Certify acceptability of contractors' work for invoice approval and payment.
• Assume other duties as required.

Education requirements: High school diploma or GED.

Work Experience requirement: Thorough knowledge of electrical distribution work processes, procedures and safety standards. Minimum two years experience as a Distribution System Inspector Assoc. or equivalent related experience.

Required License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license and acceptable driving safety record.

Other Requirements: Physical demand level is Sedentary. Typically second step of progression in job family or can be entry level based on previous experience/job classification.

Compensation Range: $74,551.00 - $

Physical Demand Level: Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
