View Point Health proudly provides outpatient treatment to children, adolescents and adults. At the outpatient centers, we promote overall health and quality of life for individuals, youth and families through evidence‑based therapies and medication management to reduce the impact of mental illness, behavior challenges, and substance use.
This position involves patrolling assigned premises, enforcing security policies, identifying suspicious behaviors, controlling access to the property, responding to incidents, and reporting any irregularities to the appropriate assigned parties. Essentially, the guard acts as a visible deterrent and maintains a watchful presence to ensure the safety of the property and personnel.
- Conduct approved security scanning checks of visitors on site.
- Monitors stairwells, hallways, and office space at the Outpatient Center to ensure safety of all staff and clients.
- Walks through buildings to ensure security; walks staff to cars in parking lot as requested.
- Keeps clients from congregating in the waiting room or parking lot after hours.
- Monitors grounds, including the edges of the parking lot, to ensure that it is not being used by those who do not have business at the VPH building.
- Escorts people off the ground when they are disruptive or trespassing.
- Enforces agency policies (Tobacco‑Free; No Weapons or Illicit Drugs; Safe & Supportive Environment/Disruptive Behavior).
- Maintains awareness of activities around the building and checks periodically to make sure that employees are safe throughout the building.
- Builds rapport with clients, visitors, and employees.
- Provides assistance via VPH cell phone when requested.
- Coordinates with law enforcement or emergency services personnel as needed.
- Walks through the building at time of closure to ensure security, making sure all doors are locked and the building is empty.
- Manages waiting room, welcomes patients, inquires about their needs and steers visitors to the appropriate program/suite.
- Observes and monitors visitors/clients behavior during their visit to the outpatient center.
- Proactively intervenes and diffuses potentially disruptive situations using established guidelines.
- Works closely with SA and Drug Court programs; frequently coordinates and communicates with VPH staff and Drug Court screeners/probation officers to ensure safety of the building, property and staff during evening and weekend groups and drug screens.
- Assists in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols and procedures (medical or behavioral crisis).
- Neutralizes verbal crises in progress and places 911 call when needed.
- Communicates with first responders and assists in the completion of the related Critical Incident Report documentation.
- Complies with agency rules and policies on confidentiality and maintains required professional boundaries with clients.
- Participates in Health and Safety meetings to ensure knowledge of emergency procedures.

- High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of job‑related experience.
- Some positions may require P.O.S.T. certification or area‑specific certifications or eligibility.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in a medical/mental health setting.
- Outgoing, engaging and personable communication skills.
- Experience working in a medical or psych office, or DBHDD.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
- Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
