Overview
Keune Hair cosmetics is looking for a standout licensed cosmetologist to step into the role of Color Specialist - Key Accounts. In this role, you’ll do more than just demonstrate our products—you’ll be driving sales by sparking inspiration, expanding our brand presence at key accounts, and using your expertise to show new salon prospects what’s possible with Keune color.
This position requires an advanced knowledge of the technicalities of hair color, depth, and tone and the ability to work with a variety of techniques. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational, communication and presentation abilities. This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be traveling about 60% of the time, mostly across the Mid Atlantic and Northeast, with overnight stays and weekend events as part of the mix.

- Aggressively pursue Key Accounts for new salon business acquisition and existing salon expansion through creative color solutions.
- Have a solid understanding of Keune products and strong sales skills, valued by Distributor sales teams and salon staff as a source of information to help grow their business.
- Possess strong presentation skills to perform demos or basic training.
- Execute high priority activities including high level demos at key accounts and prospect events, conversion and formulation days, category demos at existing accounts, category specific conversion and formulation days, key account support, and limited key account classes.
- Support existing salons in all facets of Keune business and strive to expand purchasing of Keune products.
- Detail with Distributor Sales Consultants, keeping the primary goals of new door acquisition and existing salon category expansion central to all activities.
- Support delivery of the Keune message at sales meetings under the direction of the Business Development Manager.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of all Keune programs and share program information with Distributor Sales Consultants and appropriate store personnel.
- Foster strong relationships with Distributor staff, Keune Brand Specialists, and marketplace salon personnel.
- Work with Distributor Brand Specialists, Education Manager, Business Development Manager, and contract Keune Educators to enhance Keune presence in the Distributor’s territory.
- Support Distributor show events as directed by the Business Development Manager.
- Utilize and keep current a company-provided CRM system.

- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
- 5 or more years of intense color experience in the professional beauty industry
- Cosmetology license is required
- CRM system experience is preferred, but not required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Acquire & maintain thorough knowledge of Keune products and possess the ability to share it effectively
- Cost-benefit awareness when proposing investment in local Keune activities
- Strong relationship-building skills with frontline distributor field and store sales personnel
- Ability to problem-solve independently, with awareness to seek assistance for complex problems
- Desire to constantly enhance professional skill set
- Integrity and discretion at all times
- Knowledge of basic sales accounting is a plus, but not required

- Required to fulfill the demands of a daily in-territory travel schedule and out-of-home market schedule which will require air travel, overnight hotel stays, and weekend departures when applicable. Average out-of-home market travel is approximately 12-15 days per month.
- Frequently required to perform administrative and professional work using writing tools and electronic media.
- Required to be ambulatory to move around freely between buildings and levels within buildings.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals associated with office work.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
