Retail Shortage Control - Part Time
Shortage Control Associate (SCA) at Burlington Stores, Inc. delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining a secure shopping environment. By exhibiting a confident presence and knowledge of theft trends, the SCA reduces opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities at store entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas.
Responsibilities- Maintain a professional appearance while wearing the designated dress standards, radio, and earpiece.
- Stand positioned at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings.
- Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting, promoting a sense of control and security.
- Monitor the entrance for the entire duration of each shift with a focus on reducing opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities.
- Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty.
- Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
- Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring adherence to safety and security standards.
- Communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
- 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor the store environment.
- Strong communication skills with customers and co‑workers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze business trends and exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
- Strong leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision‑making.
- Competitive wage of $13.00 per hour.
- Flexible hours; part‑time associates may work nights, weekends, and holidays.
