Contract Overview
We are seeking a skilled AKS Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance our Kubernetes based application platforms. This role requires strong hands on experience with Azure Kubernetes Services, scripting and automation (Power Shell preferred), and a solid understanding of Helm charts and Dev Ops practices. You’ll work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure our containerized workloads are reliable, secure, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, operate, and troubleshoot Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) clusters across multiple environments.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Power Shell (and/or other scripting languages) to streamline deployment, configuration, and operational tasks.
- Create, update, and maintain Helm charts for application deployments and platform components.
- Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to integrate AKS workloads into CI/CD pipelines and follow infrastructure as code best practices.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and cost efficiency; implement improvements where needed.
- Support containerized application deployments, including image management, networking, and security configurations.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing platform optimization.
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Strong hands on experience with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), including cluster configuration, scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Power Shell scripting and automation; ability to build reusable scripts and tooling.
- Solid understanding of Helm charts, templating, packaging, and release workflows.
- Working knowledge of Dev Ops concepts, including CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, infrastructure as code, and container lifecycle management.
- Experience with Docker, container registries, and Kubernetes networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Azure services commonly used alongside AKS (Azure Monitor, Key Vault, ACR, VNet, etc.).
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across team.
