Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Information Technology
Project Manager who will be
responsible for actively supporting and/or leading complex system and
infrastructure projects or
programs including the planning, management, and implementation of the
assigned projects across the
County Enterprise.
This role will not only assist in creating critical project and program
management deliverables (e.g.
Project Charter, Project Plans, Risk Management Plans, Critical Issues
Log, Analysis, etc.), but will also be
expected to support the teams in achieving priorities, goals and
strategies with key stakeholders.
The selected candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced
environment with high degrees of
ambiguity. This position will report directly to the IT PMO.
Skills Requirement- Solid understanding of the PMBOK framework and demonstrate the ability to plan and run projects following this methodology, tailoring it suitably as needed
- Strong skills and experience in issue resolution, influencing team members and other stakeholders, conducting difficult negotiations and managing to stringent timelines for project deliverables
- Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of complex Programs and Projects
- Experience with the Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Organizes and leads cross-functional technical project teams to design, plan, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure solutions.
- Ensures that all commits are met in accordance with project and stakeholder goals/objectives.
- Demonstrate a very high level of customer service and empathy to the customer while working within triple constraints
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with Executive presence to provide status updates and prepare thorough and polished documentation for Executive level review.
- Manages change, evaluates information and formulates action plans, mitigates risk to minimize schedule delays and costs.
- Leads the complete lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects including the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure projects, including but not limited to network upgrades, data center management, cloud migration, and Core Network infrastructure, ensuring they align with the organization and departmental objectives.
- Strong understanding of networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and data centers.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms, including hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and IT governance frameworks.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and service delivery models.
- Awareness of how infrastructure aligns with broader business and technical architecture.
- Oversee the delivery of enterprise technologies, from the design and procurement stages to implementation and operational handoff.
- Strong skill and experience managing external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contractual terms.
- PMP or similar certification.
- CSM or PMI-ACP
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, IT or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Progressive related experience in either a PM consulting, project management job or process improvement related role
- Experience leading with highly technical teams
- Strong Working Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as Microsoft Azure
- Experience leading systems configuration and/or integration completed by 3 rd party vendors
- Experience in infrastructure domains such as IT infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, telecom networks, Core Infrastructure (Network, Cloud, Servers and Applications).
