Position Northside Gwinnett Outpatient Center Administrative Assistant
Location Lawrenceville, Georgia
Experience Customer Service and Administrative Assistant experience is preferred
Employment Type Full Time/40 hours per week
Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy management organization that partners with Northside Gwinnett to provide therapy services. Northside Gwinnett Outpatient Center opened in January 2022 and serves patients with cardiac, pulmonary, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, wound care, lymphedema, and lab work needs. The administrative assistant team works together to ensure patients are scheduled in a timely and accurate manner and receive excellent customer service.

- Answer phones and return messages in a timely manner
- Check in patients, verify information, and notify therapists to maintain schedules
- Schedule patients with varying diagnoses according to orders
- Maintain a team mindset to ensure all tasks are completed by day-end
- Interview patients or appropriate parties to obtain registration, billing, and insurance information; enter data into the registration system
- Answer questions regarding pre-registration procedures and hospital policies
- Identify patients with inadequate or no insurance coverage and refer to insurance verification or financial counseling as needed
- Perform surgical case linking if necessary
- Contact referring physician offices to confirm orders and obtain notes if needed
- Determine co-pays and deductibles; discuss financial options and collect patient responsibility when appropriate
- Adhere to departmental Uniform/Dress Code policy
- Orient/train new hires when needed
- Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and strong customer service skills
- Working knowledge of computers and ability to perform tasks accurately
- Typing skills of 40 wpm
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities required in a healthcare administrative environment
- Preferred: eighteen (18) months clerical, customer service, insurance, registration, or call center experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to complete revenue cycle training classes and computer-based learning modules
- Demonstrates professionalism and respectful communication
