American Health Imaging is currently seeking a Registered MRI Steering Technologist to join our Lawrenceville, GA team. This full-time role is scheduled Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This position offers the opportunity to support cutting-edge technology initiatives that help expand access and improve outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary

The MRI Steering Technologist remotely delivers and oversees MRI services using advanced communication technologies. The Technologist remotely performs a variety of standard and specialty Magnetic Resonance (MR) procedures to produce imaging studies using radiology technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the company’s values in daily activities
  • Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of high-field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
  • Supervises qualified Onsite Operators supporting in-person patient care within a remote care environment
  • Screens patients for MR safety clearance prior to procedure performance and resolves conflicting screening information received by Onsite Operators during exam preparation
  • Evaluates MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
  • Utilizes live camera feeds to monitor patient’s positioning and condition in real time to ensure image quality and patient safety
  • Monitors the MRI system virtually to identify and address any technical issues in real time, ensuring uninterrupted and safe operation
  • Maintains continuous real-time audio-visual communication with the Qualified Onsite Operator to coordinate exam execution and respond promptly to any concerns.
  • Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice
  • Maintains accurate patient records

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Knowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding to perform a full range of scanning procedures
  • Knowledge of basic level computer skills
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to operate and adjust scanning and ancillary equipment in a remote environment
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes, think strategically and identify trends
  • Ability to provide and receive open, honest feedback to improve decision-making and support continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to maintain and build constructive relationships that produce results
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, balance multiple tasks independently and within a team to meet established deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Education and Experience
  • 3-5 Years scanning experience as a registered MRI Technologist
  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification in Magnetic Resonance
  • Applicable State Licensure, where required
  • IV credentialed if applicable
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with Siemens and/or GE virtual cockpit and MRI platforms, preferred
  • MRSO certification, preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions.
  • Requires computer-related activities for extended periods of time
  • Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write and key
