This is a full time, benefited FLSA exempt position in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design Division that reports to the Dean of Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. $69,680/yr.
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10065): Technical Diploma or AAT/AS/AAS in discipline or closely related field or trade school or 10 years’ experience in the field. Minimum TWO years beyond CAR/CAB/Residential Construction education.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years fulltime paid work experience in field. Minimum three years’ experience in teaching college-level courses in a two-year college or degree-granting technical college. Experience in course and curriculum development, demonstrated flexibility with diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies. Demonstrated work experience with the adult learner and a history of commitment to active learning.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs. Some experience with online instruction a plus.
Job Description
Summary:
Under general supervision, to serve as program director and perform duties which include curriculum design and development; instruction, recruitment, and advisement of students; budgeting; and management of adjunct faculty. The program director will be responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours of day or evening instructional courses per quarter (not including OBI or internships). Duties also include participation in college committees and participation in professional enhancement.
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.
Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

Organizes and administers the educational program per the goals and objectives of the program and/or college
- Performs administrative functions related to program records, program evaluations including assessment of learning outcomes, reports, student records, and student evaluations.
- Evaluates selects and requests educational materials and equipment.
- Prepares and evaluates program budgets.
- Completes all reports and records promptly maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited courses. (Performed by all incumbents)
- Delivers effective individualized programs of instruction to class members.
- Ensures adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures.
