Job Summary

The Department of Elementary Education within the School of Education at GGC invites applications for Part-time Faculty positions in Elementary Education. The successful candidate will have knowledge of best practices in elementary classrooms and experience supervising teacher candidates in field experiences. This position is to create a pool of interested candidates from which the department may draw as courses become available.

The posting will remain active for AY25-26 hiring (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Part-Time faculty positions are semester-based and report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes (face-to-face, online, hybrid, blended). These positions are on an as-needed basis and require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback and meet individually with students throughout the semester.

Classes may be offered in the fall, spring, and/or summer, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Developing course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper division program and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
  • Reviewing, evaluating and recommending student learning materials.
  • Evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
  • Timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
  • Qualifications
    • Required: A minimum of a master s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.

    • Preferred Educational

      Qualifications:

      Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
    • 1-year college-level teaching
    • Sustained professional engagement demonstrating relevance and currency in the field
