Job Summary

The Pantry Assistant at the Lawrenceville Co-Op exposes the student to the world of non-profits and food needs of a food bank. Duties involve administration, loading/unloading trucks, sorting and dating food, preparing client boxes, assisting with outside food needs (e.g., school pantries), and helping with ordering and reporting as needed. This position requires travel to assigned Lawrenceville Co-Op locations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare areas for food distribution by back filling the line, preparing and making food boxes, sorting and dating food.
  • Assist with unloading/loading and weighing food that comes in and out of the pantry.
  • Help prepare outside food needs (e.g., GGC requests, other school requests, weekend school bags).
  • Assist with ordering and reporting.
  • Guide volunteers on tasks and priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours
  • Tuesday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • Thursday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • (10 hours a week)
Required Qualifications
  • Must have Federal Work Study award
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy items (approximately 40–50 pounds)
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites as required by the position
