Job SummaryGeorgia Gwinnett College (GGC) invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry faculty position with expertise in the area of biochemistry and/or molecular biology starting August 1, 2026. The candidate will report to the Chair of the Biological Sciences Department. Primary responsibilities will be teaching a variety of undergraduate biology courses, including biochemistry, advanced biochemistry and general biology, for biology majors and non‑majors.
Depending on the candidate's expertise, occasional teaching of upper‑level biology courses in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, etc. may be expected. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, research, and service to the college and community.
The Department of Biological Sciences is interested in candidates with experience working with undergraduate students and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students, regardless of background. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, scholarship, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty). The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsApplicants should hold a Ph.D. in Biology (or a closely related field) on or before the semester of the start date and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline.
