Job SummaryThe Student Assistant ’ Event Technology assists with event technology support for all campus events: indoor, outdoor, and virtual. The position, in collaboration with full-time Information Technology (IT) staff, provides support for event technology during live events. Event technology support includes setting up microphones, operating PTZ cameras, recording and/or streaming events, minor editing of recordings, operating stage lighting, and controlling presentation content.
The Student Assistant
- Event Technology may also assist with event walkthroughs and rehearsals. The position conducts preventative maintenance on event spaces and event equipment, organizes and maintains equipment inventory, and conducts minor equipment installations or repairs
- Support live events and their technological/audio-visual needs.
- Respond to incidents and service requests to support event technology.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks on event spaces and mobile event technology.
- Assist with organization and maintenance of equipment inventory.
- Install or repair equipment as needed.
- Support audio-visual upgrade projects.
- Collaborate with full-time Information Technology staff to troubleshoot and document technology issues.
- Participate in professional development activities designed to improve technological skills and professional skills such as communication, customer service, and time management.
- Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College.
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
