Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 hours each day

Job Summary

The Grants Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller. Under the direction of the Assistant Controller this position will plan, organize, and perform a variety of complex technical and specialized accounting functions in support of grants accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and monitor grants, ensure all expenses are billed within allowable period.
  • Maintain documents for record keeping; monthly/quarterly/annually for auditing purposes.
  • Perform grant tasks accurately and timely including allocations, billing, drawdowns, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile grant revenues, expenses, and receivables.
  • Ensure payments from grantors are assigned proper accounting codes for booking.
  • Serves as the primary grant financial activity reporter.
  • Federal Work Study reconciliation and adjustments.
  • Complete annual SEFA report and year end journal entries related to grants.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years relevant grant accounting work experience
  • Oracle People Soft experience
Salary

56,800 - 71,000

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Efficient computer skills with use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Working level of proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with individuals at all levels of organization
  • Ability to present information (public speaking) online and in-person in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to switch between tasks as needed and meet competing deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
