Part‑Time School Nurse – Central Catholic High School

Central Catholic High School (“CCHS”) is seeking a registered nurse to serve as a part‑time school nurse. The role oversees the health and safety of students, coordinates and administers care, and liaises with parents and staff. This position reports to the Principal and works under the direction of the full‑time school nurse.

The position is part‑time, with 15 hours per week during school sessions. Days and hours are flexible. A per diem alternative is also available, and the role offers no benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid and illness assessment for students during school hours.
  • Triage medical emergencies, provide appropriate care, and make medical referrals as necessary.
  • Administer medications following Central Catholic High School’s and Massachusetts Department of Public Health medication administration policies.
  • Collaborate with parents regarding student health issues and updates on student health needs.
  • Maintain constant communication with full‑time school nurse, school administrators, Lawrence Public Schools, and community agencies to discuss student health concerns and emergency healthcare plans.
  • Maintain required documentation regarding student health office visits and medication administration.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate excellent decision making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts nursing license.
  • School Nurse Certification preferred.
  • Valid CPR, including AED certification.
  • Clinical experience in pediatrics or adolescent medicine.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to function autonomously in a clinical capacity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
