Job Description:

  • As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will partner with residents and care providers to deliver essential physical therapy services.
  • Make a real impact by maximizing residents’ functional abilities and promoting their independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and promote the mission and values of our organization.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician or accepted healthcare provider, adhering to mandatory supervision requirements.
  • Treat residents according to department protocols, focusing on functional long- and short-term goals.
  • Collaborate with residents and caregivers to incorporate their input into the therapeutic plan of care.
  • Communicate problems, questions, or status changes to the evaluating therapist.
  • Participate in team meetings to stay aligned with care goals.
  • Monitor treatment effects and progress toward functional goals; adjust treatment plans in consultation with the evaluating therapist.
  • Document all therapeutic interactions promptly and ensure accessibility to the care team.
  • Recommend and demonstrate appropriate assistive devices to residents.
  • Educate residents and caregivers, and document the results of your teachings.
  • Comply with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations.
  • Assist in developing new programs and services in Rehabilitation.
  • Take charge of your learning needs; seek out professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in clinical areas, following infection control procedures.
  • Keep up with required licenses, certifications, and competencies; complete annual compliance courses.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Be a responsible and supportive team player.
  • Display excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Possess strong analytical skills for sound decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English.
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree required.
  • PT Assistant License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Must have the physical and mental abilities to perform essential tasks including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; above 50 pounds requires assistance.
  • Frequently lift/carry up to 20 pounds; handle the stress of quality care responsibilities.
