NEUCO is looking for a Safety Advisor, Special Projects to join our team! Under the supervision of the Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor will collaborate with operations to promote and influence the company’s safety programs.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the on‑site Safety Representative for complex projects.
- Prepare Critical Lift Plans per OSHA and customer standards.
- Prepare project specific Health & Safety Plans.
- Conduct field observations, inspections, and audits, submitting findings through the company’s electronic audit tool.
- Report incidents and assist with documentation, investigation, and root cause analysis as requested.
- Help identify trends and develop mitigating actions.
- Assist the training team in preparing and conducting training presentations.
- Manage fall protection, respiratory protection, and safety programs.
- Maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) documentation related to various tasks.
- Ensure compliance with internal, external, and client‑specific EHS requirements (including Company policies, OSHA, PHMSA, EPA, and customer standards).
- Monitor and report on programs such as Near Miss Good Catch Reporting and incident/injury tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Safety or a related field, preferably in underground utility construction or gas pipeline construction.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Smartsheet, and Adobe programs.

- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions.
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English.
- Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching and crawling.
- Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment.
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand‑eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice.
- Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing.
- Pass pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E‑Verify.
- Satisfactory results of pre‑employment background check results.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
