OverviewThe Electrical Controls Engineer is a professional, non‑overtime eligible position that reports to the VP of Engineering. The Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems for equipment and machinery, determines the effectiveness and maintainability of new automation systems, and manages the automation change process for existing equipment.
CompensationSalary range: $80,800.00 to $ per year, determined based on education, experience, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws.
Essential Functions- Design and build control systems for process control and automation projects.
- Design and build Human Machine Interface (HMI) control systems for custom Pick and Place automation equipment.
- PLC Control System Design with a focus on hardware, panels, and instrumentation; CAD-based panel layout and schematic design.
- Implements electric controls design by providing installation, start‑up, and technical support.
- Meet and interact with vendors in various capacities.
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and machine start‑up; generate and manage project documentation.
- Provide technical support for production departments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
- Work experience or co‑op with PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming and design.
- Familiarity with process systems and continuous processes.
- Skilled in automation architecture design.
- Knowledge of current trends in automation and instrumentation to select and implement modern controls architectures.
- Preferred: 5+ years of work experience in the field.
- Experience with Vision Systems, Scara Robots, and Automated Pick & Place equipment.
- Experience with validation of electrical systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Strong interpersonal skills, diligent and dependable.
- Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to remain stationary for an extended length of time.
- Person frequently operates a computer and troubleshoots control systems.
- Person must detect visual discrepancies in standard procedures.
- Person needs to occasionally move around the facility and commute to other CSI facilities to access production equipment.
