Driver and Janitor

Job Objective

Provides materials pick up and delivery service; provides facility and grounds upkeep service.

• Schedule and/or follow pickup and delivery schedules.
• Load and unload truck.
• Perform basic janitorial/custodial duties.
• Perform basic grounds keeping duties including lawn care and snow removal.
• Perform inspection of vehicle(s).
• Perform daily maintenance on vehicle and equipment.
• Arrange for service to vehicle(s).
• Report damage, problems or malfunction of vehicle(s)/equipment to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School academic or equivalent

Experience: Prior driver/delivery experience helpful

Certifications/Licenses: Operator's license required;
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred

Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate assigned vehicle;
Ability to use janitorial equipment, basic hand tools, and grounds keeping equipment;
Ability to work and meet deadlines independently with minimum supervision

Include speaking, hearing, and vision; manual dexterity to be able to operate vehicle; bending, squatting and walking; lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds; to be able to load and unload materials in vehicle; sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Minimum once a week for 2-4 hours in one day

Yes. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
