Veterans Treatment Court Coordinator - 7th Judicial District
Position number: K0246392
Location: 7th Judicial District, Lawrence, KS
Salary: $72,797.03 annually (grade 44)
Job Duties- This grant‑funded position helps to create and implement the protocol for a new treatment court.
- Coordinate admissions to the Veteran’s Treatment Court program in collaboration with the presiding judge and internal/external stakeholders.
- Screen applicants for eligibility, conduct interviews using motivational interviewing techniques, identify risks and needs, formulate eligibility recommendations, and present recommendations (written and verbal) to the Veteran’s Treatment Court team.
- Supervise CSO staff as needed.
- Track client compliance, performance, and progress through program phases.
- Prepare documents for presentation to the court, manage files, and track program data.
- Provide guidance and direction to clients and prospective applicants and advise the team on clients’ status.
- Participate in assessment of clients’ continued eligibility and status in the program.
- Coordinate with the Specialty Court Program Manager to facilitate training activities for the team, steering committee, local partners, and veteran mentors.
- Organize quarterly steering committee meetings and report on the status of grant and private funding.
- Manage potential for yearly renewal of the position.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in corrections, criminology, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field.
- Preferred military background.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
