- General Function: Prepare various foods for the Hy‑Chi department, manage hot and cold cases, and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.

- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all interactions.
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner throughout the store.
- Make an effort to learn customer names and address them by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, unloading heavy items, noting and passing along suggestions or requests, and performing tasks that enhance the shopping experience.
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
- Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Pre‑clean and heat woks with gas, add oil, and cook soups before meats.
- Prepare vegetables and sauces, combine ingredients with meat, and place finished food in hot cases, monitoring amounts and refilling as necessary.
- Order product and supplies when necessary or notify department head of needs.
- Clean work area at the end of the shift.
- Fill the cold case with fresh‑made food.
- Prepare items for the next day (e.g., meats in freezer).
- Understand all aspects of the Hy‑Chi kitchen.
- Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Report to work when scheduled and on time.
- Check rice as time permits.
- Takes customer orders at the Hy‑Chi department counter when necessary.
- Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
- Performs other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; training provided.
Physical Requirements- Able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Vision up to 20 inches and down to 20 feet with or without correction; color vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Perform balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions: Frequently exposed to noise, temperature extremes, and cleaning chemicals or solvents in a fast‑paced environment with significant pressure to meet deadlines.
Equipment Used: Wok, cooking spoons, buckets (vegetables), knives, and cutting boards.
Contacts: Daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
