Production Support Specialist 1st Shift

You will have a variety of duties that support the production process in numerous ways. You’ll be cross-trained across multiple departments by a support team of trainers and supervisors to help you learn every step of the way!

• This position is a full-time, 5-day work week on the 1st shift from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. We’ll work with you to find a shift that fits your lifestyle and provides flexibility if the proposed hours do not work for you.

The Production Support Specialist in Lawrence has duties that support production in numerous ways, including:

• Prepare greeting card stock for the Cutter to cut; jog, skid and move stock; carry stock to skids and move finished skids to the outgoing area.
• Perform complete make-readies and operate equipment such as the Automatic Card Extractor (ACE); prepare rails/bars and press set-up.
• Responsible for quality sampling and stacking cards onto skids according to register, blockouts, salvage and spoilage.
• Determine when adhesive will be mixed and when tests will be performed on the mixture; ensure ingredients are in the area for mixing.
• Assist the Webtron press operator with press setup, changeovers, machine adjustments and routine preventative maintenance.
• Support production areas by ordering stock, moving components, inputting information into the computer system, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Positively participate in performance dialogues and team problem-solving activities.
• Set up and operate a Gem/Cello machine, wholesale sealer, accumulator and shrink tunnel to shrink poly film around wholesale units of specialty items; operate a lift truck and track stock in the OAI.
• Complete paperwork involved in moving stock and pack finished goods on packaging lines.
• Identify potential problems and contribute to problem resolution and alternative solutions; be flexible to move to different assignments as needed.

• Position may be in several departments; incumbent will learn and perform multiple assignments within this job classification.
• There is noise in production areas; hearing protection is provided.
• Overtime is available and will be discussed during the interview process.

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You can grip and push/pull stock 2"–3.5" thick, 80–120 times per hour.
• You can lift 20–30 lb stacks of stock, 60–80 times per hour, with frequent lifting of 40–60 lbs during the shift.
• You can stand, walk, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level continuously.
• You can perform repetitive hand/wrist motions and fine motor skills.
• You can operate a computer independently.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
