Overview
Joining us as a Multi-Unit Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices. You’ll lead customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. You will start a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evenings and weekends as needed.
This role is in-person and not remote.
- Lead the front-line management and development of associates across three offices
- Deliver an outstanding client experience and achieve office-related growth objectives
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets
- Develop local partnerships and manage office community involvement
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with the Associate Relations Center
- Build an engaging team environment through training and coaching
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to associates
- Create associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for all offices
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment*
- People management experience with demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates
- Aptitude for growth plan execution and leading a growth-focused culture
- Strong decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)*
- Ability to manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
- Collaboration with the DGM to create growth plans and client targets; develop local partnerships and manage community involvement
- Participation in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office roles
- Experience in conducting performance reviews and resolving associate issues
- Capability to train and coach associates across all offices and recognize contributions
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information
- Develop and manage associate schedules and timekeeping across offices
