Job Description
*
* Schedule:

*** Nights* Part Time - 24 hours per week
* ** JOB SUMMARY
** The Unit Secretary performs receptionist and clerical duties with the supervision of a registered charge nurse and unit director. Must embody the values of Lawrence Memorial hospital and demonstrate effective time management skills as well as the ability to work independently as necessary.
** ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Receives calls and customer requests and relays information to the appropriate parties.
* Understands and complies with all patient confidentiality requirements, HIPAA.
* Performs order transcription and computer order entry.
* Enters patient charges and assures that charges are complete and accurate.
* Files forms/reports in patients’ medical records.
* Copies medical records for patient transfers.
* Verifies unit census.
* Maintains patient assessment log.
* Disseminates patient assignment information to appropriate parties.
* Orders and stocks chart forms and other supplies for the unit.
* Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
* Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
* Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
** JOB QUALIFICATIONS
***** Required***:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 1 year related customer service experience
*** Preferred***:
* 2 years related work experience with knowledge of medical terminology
* Associates degree
