Aboutthe Role
This is a pivotal, hands‑on role responsible for bridging the gap between engineering and physical product realization. The specialist will lead the end‑to‑end process of rapid prototyping and fabrication, ensuring seamless transition from engineering design to mass production.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Industrial Design, Mechanical and Acoustic Engineering, Project and Product Management throughout the new product development process.
- Convert design concepts and engineering specifications into documentation suitable for prototyping.
- Produce new product prototype iterations in appropriate materials, fabrication methods and finishes, maintaining the high‑fidelity aesthetic and quality standards of Martin Logan.
- Provide fabrication, materials and production feedback during prototype, sampling and pre‑production phases.
- Review and provide input and feedback communication to suppliers of sample components and subassemblies.
- Support quality and service departments as needed, including inspection and service documentation.
- Responsible for sourcing and procurement of rapid prototyping, supplies and small tools.
- Contribute to design and fabrication of display fixtures, features and samples for trade shows.
- Program and operate CNC router, Program and operate 3D printers, manage and maintain product development shop and work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced CAD competency, preferably Solidworks.
- CNC programming & operation, cabinet and prototype building & finishing.
- High level of craftsmanship and materials knowledge, production experience helpful.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational and time management skills.
- Microsoft Office suite competence.
- Supervision of prototype shop equipment function and safety procedures.
- Source and procure supplies, materials and small tools as required.
