• Preliminary assessments
• Concept creation
• Leading designs with support from peers, SME’s, and BIM designers
• Internal and external problem resolution
• Drawing and specification production
• Customer and vendor accessibility
• Design and develop security solutions for buildings, facilities, and sites
• Create schematics, schedules, and plan drawings; perform calculations for video storage, bandwidth usage, and power loads
• Contribute to cross‑discipline coordination; identify potential conflicts or inconsistencies with architectural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams
• Ensure projects are completed on time and to client expectations

Education – Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/scientific discipline; master’s degree preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• Professional security certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP, etc.) are a plus.

Experience

• 12+ years of professional experience in planning, designing, and commissioning physical security systems and/or communication networks.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Technical Expertise

• In‑depth knowledge of physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, and intrusion detection, and familiarity with leading manufacturers.
• Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments using various methodologies.
• Evaluating emerging security technologies and analyzing trade‑offs (e.g., multi‑megapixel cameras versus thermal imaging, ground‑based radar versus Lidar).
• Strong understanding of network technologies and cybersecurity principles.

Skills

• Exceptional problem‑solving abilities.
• Team collaboration and constructive feedback skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and design collaboration tools.
• Experience with Revit, ACC, BIM
  360, AutoCAD, and/or Micro Station.
• Knowledge of CSI design and construction specifications.
• Estimating and scheduling mid‑to‑large‑scale project design effort.
• Construction cost estimating for security implementation.

Optional / Ideal Additional Experience

• Leading projects and managing resources.
• Mentoring junior staff.
• Design management experience.
• Design experience in data centers.

Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
