This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the “best” candidates. At Jacobs, we do not settle. We always look beyond to raise the bar and deliver excellence.
As a Senior Structural Engineer professional on our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of Data Center projects including new builds, retrofits, and colocations. You will perform various aspects of structural engineering assignments, increasing your familiarity with design methods and tools.
You’ll be a key asset, contributing to and working with a diverse team of engineers and designers on capital projects. You’ll liaise with internal professionals and design departments for project delivery and coordinate designs across Jacobs offices domestically and internationally. You’ll grow technically and professionally, expanding your leadership role.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of structural analyses
- Create computer models for structures
- Perform calculations for member designs, foundations, material take‑offs for estimating, miscellaneous calculations, assist with schedules, etc.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 8+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer, with ability to become registered in additional states
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station and S3D
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design codes and standards
- Knowledge and application of Building Codes
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, including MS Teams for remote coordination
- Ability to travel to client sites (approx. 10‑20 % travel)
- Master of Science in Engineering
- Experience with industrial metal projects such as casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
- Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations
