Overview
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support middle and high school students in a K-12 educational setting located in Lawrence, KS. This contract position, lasting the current school year (CSY), offers the opportunity to work approximately 2 to 2.5 days per week, focusing on a caseload of 31 students, including 10 consult‑only cases.
Responsibilities- Conduct speech and language evaluations to identify student needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Provide direct speech therapy services and conduct consultative support for students and staff
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to enhance student learning and communication
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress reporting
- Valid state licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
- Experience working with school‑aged children, preferably in middle and high school settings
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and educational regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school personnel
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and maintain detailed documentationli>
