Job Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Psychiatrist, MD will be to assist the Chief Clinical Officer in the delivery of an effective, efficient program of psychiatric services to adults and children, with particular emphasis on psychopharmacological services, integrated health services, effective diversion to outpatient community‑based programs, liaison with the medical community, team consultation, integration of primary and behavioral health care, and promotion of a quality assured managed care service system.

Duties and Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for patients ages 6 and older, in accordance with scope of practice, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Diagnose mental health conditions by assessing patients, reviewing medical history, conducting psychological assessments, and reaching accurate diagnoses.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual needs, prescribing medications, recommending psychotherapy or other evidence‑based therapies, and providing lifestyle guidance.
- Evaluate patients by interviewing, conducting physical examinations, observing behaviors, reviewing documentation, administering psychological tests, and ordering laboratory tests.
- Prescribe and monitor medications, adjusting as necessary and educating patients on side effects and interactions.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, evaluating medication effectiveness and therapeutic impact.
- Maintain interdisciplinary care by reviewing treatment plans with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other providers.
- Provide crisis intervention and assessment for patients seeking care or referred by healthcare professionals.
