For its Public Works Service, the City of Laval is looking for a: Mechanic for Vehicles and Equipment
STATUS: Permanent
JOB POSTING NUMBER: 706
SALARY: Class 10 – from $38.63 to $48.31 plus various bonuses (night, retention, etc.).
SCHEDULE: Evening (weekdays):
Monday to Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM
WORK LOCATION: G.V.E Operations, Public Works, 1499 CUNARD STREET Laval H7S 2H8 (see map below)
The challenges that await you
Perform various mechanical repair tasks on all types of motorized vehicles, equipment, and devices.
The ideal profile for us
Hold a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in heavy road vehicle mechanics, construction machinery mechanics, or automotive mechanics, recognized by the Ministry of Education of Quebec, along with relevant experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
Hold a PEP card (Preventive Maintenance Program) issued by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ).
Possess an environmental qualification certificate – category H3 (vehicles).
Demonstrate the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and to perform repairs on various types of motorized equipment.
Hold a valid class 5 driver's license that meets SAAQ requirements.
Justify a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the field.

Must pass a practical exam and a selection interview
