About the RoleThe sales manager will be responsible for managing the sales team by establishing sales territories, volume targets, and profitability objectives within the Greater Montreal/Laurentians market area. To achieve volume/share, price, and other critical revenue objectives, the incumbent must coordinate, implement, and execute the overall company strategy with his team while working closely with directors of other departments. The role involves managing and coaching the sales team, developing a high‑performance sales culture, and implementing the ready‑mix concrete (RMX) commercial and sales plan in the Greater Montreal Market Area (GMA) / Laurentians.
The incumbent also manages customer relations, promotions, and the G&A budget for the market area while working with the area management team to establish the annual budget.
- Strong leadership & operational support toward ensuring full compliance with Amrize Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the delivery of the strategic framework and related action plans for the market.
- Ensure that sales representatives have a clear strategy for their accounts.
- Complete the annual business plan, based on segmentation and systematic pricing module including profit margin management.
- Develop offers to differentiate the company as a supplier of choice.
- Take charge of the pricing strategy, prepare offers, and negotiate with large clients on major projects.
- Build effective monthly sales forecasts for the management team.
- Manage the sales force to ensure that all potential projects are quoted and followed up.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to meet or exceed targets for revenue, market share, margin, profit, and DSO targets.
- Communicate, improve, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree. - Preferred additional education:
College degree in Civil Engineering. - Field of study preferred:
Business, marketing, or engineering. - Required work experience: 7 to 10 years.
- Required technical skills:
Microsoft Suite, SAP, Salesforce. - Travel requirements: 50%.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent people‑management skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external relations.
- Disciplined and process‑oriented.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved personal protection equipment (PPE); employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
