The Accounts Receivable Manager will be joining a fast-growing, independent Registered Investment Advisory firm with a culture of entrepreneurship, education, and collaboration. This role will report to the Director of Finance. This role will lead and oversee all accounts receivable and client billing functions, with a primary focus on advisory fee billing, collections, and revenue reporting. This role requires deep familiarity with billing practices, strong internal controls, and the ability to collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

The Accounts Receivable Manager will oversee investment management client billing, as well as billing and collections for our various Advisor Services. We will leverage the Manager’s expertise to help us standardize and scale billing systems as we grow.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office HQ.

Responsibilities:
Invoicing & Billing Operations
  • Manage quarterly client and advisor billing processes, including preparation, execution, reconciliation, and adjustments
  • Oversee fee calculations, error resolution, client rebates, and account closures to ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Coordinate fee collection with our vendor partners
  • Partner with advisors to ensure timely fee collection and resolution of outstanding balances
Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for advisors regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and fee‑related issues
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to resolve billing and revenue matters
Reporting & Audit Support
  • Prepare and review billing, revenue, and advisor‑level reports, including fee audits and P&L requests
  • Support external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Partner with Finance leadership on firmwide and board‑level reporting
Process Improvement & Systems Management
  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable billing and invoicing processes, including evaluating and leveraging technology solutions
  • Maintain and enhance billing systems to support accuracy, consistency, and growth
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Communicate proactively with Finance, Payroll, and Operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition and downstream processing
  • Act as a trusted liaison between advisors and internal teams on billing‑related matters
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of work experience in revenue collection
  • Experience leading large‑scale projects and working with high‑performing teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in using technology and driving adoption of new technologies
  • Advanced Excel Skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formula Understanding)
  • High level of autonomy and in‑depth industry expertise
  • Ability to ask questions and make recommendations
  • Previous RIA or other financial institution and accounting experience a plus
