Position: Training Specialist, MOS (contract)

Job Summary

As part of Teck’s Management Operating System (MOS) program, we are seeking a skilled Training Specialist to design onboarding and educational materials. The ideal candidate must be familiar with learning theories and instructional design models. This position will assess learning needs and develop content, working closely with our MOS program team. Responsibilities include developing engaging training materials that align with brand guidelines.

This is an initial 12‑month contractor contract with potential extension.

Location

Vancouver, BC, Canada – Hybrid workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Design training materials for MOS program.
  • Design role‑based onboarding for site roles.
  • Tailor learning materials for a variety of technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Develop engaging online learning experiences incorporating interactive elements and practice application.
  • Build learning environments where participants can demonstrate proficiency and apply knowledge and skills in real‑world scenarios.
  • Measure and evaluate trainee performance against training objectives.
  • Provide status on training by issuing reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in mining or related industry or experience with a Management Operating System program.
  • Minimum of 8 years demonstrated training design experience.
  • Proficient in course development software such as Articulate Storyline.
  • Proficiency with video capture and editing software such as iMovie, Camtasia, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Considerable digital literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office/M365 applications.
  • Deep attention to detail with the ability to maintain and ensure accuracy.
